Did you know that research shows that just viewing pictures of nature changes your attitude and reduces stress? They have also found that it makes people more social. People who have viewed Floral photos or nature scenes have better feelings towards their community. Whether it’s a screen saver, a photo book, a wall hanging, a video, a window to look out of or a park to walk in, flowers put you in touch with your core values and interests. You will be more sensitive to the needs of others and feel more connected to the human race and giving to other people.
If we use these images in the home or the workplace we will notice a better work environment and social atmosphere and we begin to feel more connected to the world as a whole.
“Previous studies have shown the health benefits of nature range from more rapid healing to less stress to improved mental performance and vitality,” says Richard Ryan, a professor of psychology, psychiatry and education at the University of Rochester and co-author of the study. He says, “Now we’ve found nature brings out more social feelings, more value for community and close relationships. People are more caring when they are around nature.”
In another study, participants “worked in a room with or without a few houseplants. In all cases, those who were exposed to natural elements – digital or otherwise – rated close relationships and community as more important than they did before the study. The more attention participants paid to natural scenes, the “nicer” they got. Conversely, the more they focused on artificial elements, the higher they rated selfish goals, such as wealth and fame.”
I am an author, inspirational speaker, the creator of the book Peace in the Present Moment with New York Times best selling authors, Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie, and award-winning photographer of flowers. One of my passions is to photograph the essence of blooming flowers. I call them my “soul shots.” I am strongly connected to the essence of the flower.
I help people remember how to believe in themselves, to consciously wake up. I help them remember how to feel and be in the now through showing the essence of the flowers. Then, you can become more authentically who you are. You can become more of what you need and want.
I want to help you see how you can believe in yourself and remember how to feel. We need to balance ourselves more. Of course the real thing is always best, but looking at pictures can produce the same result.
I didn’t believe in myself. I didn’t think I was worthy. I was in a 14 year verbally abusive relationship. When I finally left him, because he threatened to kill me, my passions awakened and I found the essence of the flower. When you connect to the essence of the flower you connect to the essence of who you are.
Flowers awakened me to my true self and connected me to my spirit. The awakening I had through flowers not only allowed me to create a book with Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie, but also to manifest the man of my dreams. My flower photos are my gift from my heart to the world. Through my “soul shots” I give you the gift of serenity to reduce your stress, improve your health and make you happier.
